Dr Hawkins trained at Leeds University Medical School, and registered in 2003. She has worked as a part time GP since 2008. Her specialist interests include:

Nurses
Our nurses and healthcare assistant currently undertake coil fitting and removal, implant insertion and removal, smear tests, immunisations, dressings, travel advice and vaccinations, blood pressure checks, blood tests, asthma checks, diabetes checks, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease checks (COPD), family planning advice and pill checks, dietary advice.

Practice Management
The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
Reception
Our reception, admin and secretarial staff are invaluable members of our team they have the tremendously difficult job of making sure you see, speak to, or contact the member of the practice team you need to. They are extremely efficient in dealing with appointments, prescriptions and test results and also scan the hundreds of letters we receive each week onto the computer. In addition they provide support to the doctors and manage referrals and booking your appointments at the hospital through the computerised Choose and Book system.
Community Midwives
Our team of midwives hold antenatal clinics at the surgery on Monday and Wednesday mornings. They also visit patients at home. The midwives offer full antenatal care, hospital delivery, postnatal home visiting and baby check-ups.
Community Nurses
The Ipswich and East Suffolk Care Commissioning Group also employs District Nurses.
Counsellors
Your doctor can refer you, if necessary, to Suffolk Wellbeing. Counsellors hold sessions weekly in the surgery.
Health Visitors
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
